Roanoke Trip Bike Fest April 14th and 15th 2012

Had a wonderful weekend to ride last week. Road out to Roanoke VA for the Blue Ridge Bike Fest. Not to much to say but the weather was perfect. Went and saw some relatives at their Country Corner Store and the Farm. Then  From Roanoke I took the Blue ridge Parkway south straight down to NC to Boone NC. Which you will see from the pictures was a very warm sunny day. Only thing that sucked was there were a lot of bee's out so i had to keep my visor down because I kept getting hit even with a windshield.

My Bike fits right in..

Me

Finally had the opportunity to take the GS off the hard concrete and into the dirt. Ordered a set of Knobby tires and had them installed just for the weekend. Headed out early Saturday Morning with my brother in law Craig with is 2008 Wee-Strom for his off-road adventure as well. Good morning ride we hit Busco Beach in Goldsboro around 10:45am. As we both roll up the the entrance we got weird looks. Here we are at a ATV park with motorcycles. Payed our dues at the door and were in. No looking back now. But before we hit the trails we visit the family at the RV and jump on the ATV's for a quick ride around and scope out the area on where not to go. Just after lunch we take the bikes for a ride. you can watch the video to see how it goes. But as far as the BMW GS goes it did great. And the Wee Strom did well too. With one minor accident on the wee strom. Craig hit a soft sandy area and lost it. Low speeds and just fell over. only damage was the Front brake lever was broke but easily fixed.

Back up and checking all systems as Jared runs circles around Craig..

And he's down for the count Hope the engine is off...

And Jared playing in the mud

So after a long riding and taking the atv out. I headed home around 8pm. All I can say is you can't beat a bike where you can ride 100 miles go play in the dirt and mud, then ride back home and no matter what terrain your on your bike handles great
